Why I would rather the story stood up off the bag

A printed bag shows you the story. An appliqué bag lets the story take up room.

On these handbags the figures you see raised are cut from vegan leather and stitched onto the board by hand. They rise off the surface, the edges catch the light, and the picture changes a little every time you turn your shoulder. It is the closest a handbag gets to a book with a pop-up in it.

The board underneath is printed, so you still get the whole page. The patches on top are the part you can follow with a finger.

The two long wallets are the quiet half of the set. Printed, flat, light, made to ride inside the handbag or go to the reader on your list. One price for the handbag, and both wallets are on me.

The appliquéThe figures you see raised are cut from vegan leather and stitched onto the board by hand, so they stand up off the bag instead of lying flat in it. Tilt the handbag toward a window and look at the edge of a patch: that raised, stitched line is the craft. The light catches it, and the raised figures cast their own small shadows.

Why two long wallets?

The handbag is the piece I want you to look at: raised vegan leather, cut and hand-stitched. A handbag is also where a wallet lives, and the second one is for the reader on your list. So two come with it.

What does appliqué mean here?

A figure cut from one material and stitched onto another. On these handbags the figures you see raised are vegan leather, stitched onto the printed board by hand, so they rise off the bag.

How is it different from a printed handbag?

A printed handbag carries the picture flat in the surface. An appliqué handbag carries part of the picture as separate raised pieces, so the edges catch the light and it looks different from every angle. Only the appliqué line is made this way; our printed handbags and wallets are not patches.

Do the wallets have to match the handbag?

No. Any two long wallets on this page. Match the handbag, pick two different stories, or take the same one twice and give one away.

What does pre-order mean here?
